Renovation of a residential development in Revere, Massachusetts. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a residential development.
The Revere Housing Authority (RHA) owns and operates an elderly housing development known as 14-3 Petrilli Gardens located on 2 Harris Street in Revere, Massachusetts. Petrilli Gardens was constructed in 1980 and consists of two, two story brick buildings containing 45 occupied units and a community room. This development is in desperate need of a new addressable fire alarm system. It is the intent of the RHA to hire and contract with a single firm for this project that has related experience with similar projects. The qualifying candidate must be an Electrical Engineer and be licensed and registered in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Proposals will be evaluated based on the Technical Evaluation Criteria set forth in the RFS. The estimated construction budget is $500,000 and the design fee for basic services is set at $48,000. Prepare plans and specifications for the removal of the existing fire alarm system and replace with a new addressable fire alarm system in each of the 45 units, the community room area, stairwells, basements and attics. The scope of work includes but is not limited to the following: Thorough and complete analysis of existing condition and submit a formal " Design" submission Develop estimated construction budget. Evaluate the electrical service to the buildings and individual apartments for current power requirements and code compliance. Test impacted construction materials for asbestos content and if determined to be ACM provide suitable abatement procedures required during construction. Attend necessary meetings Timely production of plans and specifications for bidding. Written recommendation of optimal solutions within the budget. Conduct all aspects of the bidding process in according with MGL c.149 s.44A-H. E-Bidding is preferred method. Prepare all addenda required during the bidding phase. Schedule, attend and conduct a pre-bid site visit. Recommendation on award of the construction contract. Review contractor's shop drawings/submittals in a timely manner. Construction inspection. Contract administration through closeout. The RHA reserves the right to cancel this RFS, or to reject, in whole or in part, all proposals received in response to this RFS, upon its determination.
