This project will renovate and expand the current vehicle crime processing facility located at 310 Fisher Road. This facility processes vehicles used in crimes for numerous Harris County law enforcement agencies. The facility provides office space for the Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Auto Theft Division, bays for vehicle processing, and storage for vehicles held for evidentiary purposes. Currently, there are ten vehicle bays at the facility, but only four are fully enclosed (the other six bays have a carport covering) and insufficient staff workspace. Expanding the number of fully enclosed vehicle bays will help ensure that the vehicles are securely stored for processing. Improving the exterior artificial lighting will also enhance facility security, to include the vehicles parked in the back storage lot. The additional offices, support space, and public interface area will facilitate the expansion of operations and create a more productive work environment for the employees assigned to this facility. As of December 8, 2025, the project is in design. However, information regarding design firm, construction manager, and general contractor has not been released.
