Site work, paving and new construction of a playground / park / athletic field in Dallas, Texas. Completed plans call for the construction of a playground / park / athletic field; for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; and for paving for a playground / park / athletic field.
As of November 21, 2024, the construction manager has released the bid packages for Earthwork, Site Concrete, Site Utilities. The construction manager has released the latest bid package for this project. They are 90% CD ROW Package (For Award). All construction required for the exterior improvements at Harold Simmons Park, West Overlook. The Work includes site protections, site improvements, and temporary improvements, with all Work being completed in accordance with the Contract Documents and governing regulations. The Work is referenced to the Contract Documents and is briefly, but not wholly, summarized below: a. Protection of existing structures, utilities, and features which are to remain. b. Installation, maintenance, removals, relocation and/or repair of new and existing construction fencing with associated vinyl windscreens, access gates, etc., required for site security during construction and as needed during the life of the contract. c. Demolition, removal and proper disposal of existing site elements as indicated on the contract drawings. d. Removal and disposal of existing debris and/or obstructions interfering with new work. e. Roadway paving, curbing and sidewalks. f. Utilities including but not limited to stormwater, water, sanitary, and gas. g. Coordination of work in the ROW with ONCOR who will be relocating overhead utilities to below-grade duct banks. h. Grading, site/soil preparation, the furnishing and installation of controlled fill, planting mixes (including related soil amendments), geogrid tiebacks, and MSE structures. i. Site protection-snow fencing and filter fabric for planting mix installations. j. Cast in place concrete, foundations, footings, walls and slabs. k. Drilled piers and shafts. l. Architecture and all related construction. m. Site improvements including steps, walls, curbs, paving, and informal seating. n. Installation of site furnishings, including but not limited to seating, and trash receptacles. o. Installation of metal handrails, guardrails, and fences. p. Tunnels, conduit, channels, etc. for site utilities. q. Underdrainage systems. r. Irrigation supply, distribution, and control systems. s. Equipment and plumbing associated with the water play and pond filtration. t. Site electrical distribution. u. Site lighting including all park lighting with conduits and associated infrastructure and controls. v. IT including cameras, WIFI, and related construction. w. Removal of temporary protections and controls and final clean up A third bid package is expected to be issued in February 2025. Please note that the bid packages will be uploaded as an addendum in the week of 11/11. Although a firm timeline has not been confirmed, construction is not expected to start prior to first quarter 2025.
