Lewis County Shelter Fencing in Chehalis. All bid proposals shall be accompanied by a bid proposal deposit in cash, certified check, cashier's check or surety bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of such bid proposal. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into such contract and furnish satisfactory contract bond within the time stated in the specifications, the bid proposal deposit shall be forfeited to the Lewis County Capital Fund 3010. Plan or specification changes shall be accomplished through official project addendums on OpenGov. Both questions/answers and addenda shall be posted without additional newspaper publication. This is a call for bids to supply and install fencing at the permanent night-by-night homeless shelter. This is a public work subject to apprenticeship and prevailing wage laws, as well as other state funding requirements including compliance with Evergreen Sustainable Design Standards. The work is to be completed by the end of 2024. Lewis County Government is seeking bids for the supply and installation of black chain link fencing with integrated black privacy slats including four 12-foot-wide swing gates around the perimeter (306 LF+/-) per the attached plans. As well as the supply and installation of fencing under the covered area (50 LF+/-) per the attached plans. Fencing from top of finish slab base to soffit top ensuring the black chain link fence and two 5-foot-wide man gates are sturdy, secure, and safe, utilizing an appropriate system intended for this type of use. The fences will be installed along a length of approximately 306 linear feet (+/-) at the designated project location. Please refer to Attachment G for fencing layout and gate locations. This project will involve the supply of all materials, labor, and equipment necessary for installation, ensuring compliance with the standards detailed below. Provide and install a commercial-grade privacy/weather screen that is durable, weather resistant, and provides full visual coverage. The screen will be securely mounted to an existing structure or framework. Product Specifications 1. Screen Material: o Woven HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) or equivalent, UV-stabilized. o Minimum density: 90% visibility blockage. o Color: Black o Weather-resistant and rated for outdoor use in all seasons. 2. Dimensions: o Height: 10 feet. o Length: Less than 60 feet. Vendor to customize length to ensure proper installation. o Allow for additional material to account for anchoring/overlap. 3. Reinforcements: o Edges reinforced with heavy-duty stitched hems or heat-sealed edges. o Integrated grommets every 12" to 24" along the perimeter for secure fastening. 4. Wind Load: o Designed to withstand winds up to 65 mph with appropriate anchoring. 5. Fire Rating: o Material must comply with NFPA 701 or equivalent fire-resistance standards. Installation Requirements 1. Preparation: o Inspect and prepare the mounting surface or framework to ensure structural integrity. o Clear the installation area of debris and obstacles. 2. Attachment: o Use UV-resistant zip ties, stainless steel wire, or equivalent fasteners compatible with the grommets. o Tension the screen evenly along the entire length to prevent sagging or wrinkles. 3. Anchoring: o For freestanding applications, secure posts or supports every 8 to 10 feet with concrete footings or pre-existing framework. 4. Inspection: o Verify tightness, alignment, and overall coverage. o Ensure all fasteners are secure and no edges are loose or exposed. Warranty o Provide a minimum 5-year warranty on the screen material against UV degradation and weathering. o Installation warranty: 1 year, covering workmanship defects.
