Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in West Des Moines, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

The Project includes the following Baseball and Softball Bleacher Improvements at Valley High School, located at 3650 Woodland Avenue, West Des Moines, Iowa 50265. 1. Renovation of the existing baseball and softball field bleachers as follows: A. Add ADA accessible ramps and platforms B. Replace damaged aluminum seating planks C. Add sidewalk paving and concrete support slabs D. Replace damaged aluminum seating planks at the practice field bleachers Estimated value: $337,000. Doc Note - copies are available at the Beeline + Blue Print Shop, located at 2507 Ingersoll Avenue; Des Moines, Iowa 50312. Qualified plan houses receive all sets free of charge, provided they log all usage of the documents and return them, in a reusable condition, within fourteen (14) days after Project award. Sets are available to bidding contractors for a deposit of $200.00 USD, which shall be refunded, provided that the Plans, Specifications, and Form of Contract are returned to, in a reusable condition, within fourteen (14) days after award of the Project. If the Plans, Specifications, and Form of Contract are not returned in a timely manner or in a reusable condition, the deposit shall be forfeited. Bid Proposals must be accompanied by a bid security of five (5) percent (%) of the total amount of the proposal from bid bond, cashier's check or certified check in the same amount in a separate sealed envelope. The certified or cashier's check shall be drawn on a bank in Iowa or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States of America or the certified share draft shall be drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States and payable to the West Des Moines Community School District. The bid security shall be provided to the West Des Moines Community School District as security that if the bidder is awarded the contract, the bidder will enter a contract on the form provided by the West Des Moines Community School District at the price bid and shall furnish the required performance bond, payment bond and Certificate of Insurance. Said check or share draft may be cashed, or the bid bond forfeited as liquidated damages in the event the successful bidder fails or refuses to enter into a contract within ten (10) days of issuance of a Notice of Award and post bond satisfactory to the West Des Moines Community School District insuring the faithful fulfillment of the contract and maintenance of said improvements as required by law. Bids will be received, and the Project constructed under a single prime contract. Bids must be on a lump sum basis. The Project site will be available to commence work starting on or about March 20, 2025, subject to any changes in the contract period as provided for in these specifications, and granted by the Board of Directors. The work shall be substantially complete on or before May 16, 2025 and Final Acceptance of the Project shall be on or before May 27, 2025. The Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and to waive any or all technicalities or irregularities.
