A timeline for award has not yet been established.** Replace existing 6-inch asbestos cement water main with approximately 23,300 linear feet of new PVC 6-inch water main, approximately 1,200 feet of 3" HDPE, and approximately 200 feet of ductile iron pipe, including hydrant and valve assemblies as shown on the Construction Drawings. Deadline for questions is November 26, 2024, by 4:00 PM. Questions should be directed, in writing, to Phillip McDoniel at pmcdoniel@madisoncountyal.gov and Jennie Weatherly at jweatherly@madisoncountyal.gov The Madison County Commission reserves the right to award this bid on an all-or-none or item by item basis, to refuse all bids, and to waive technicalities. The Contractor shall: o Install temporary erosion control devices; o Replace existing 6-inch asbestos cement water main with approximately 23,300 linear feet of new PVC 6-inch water main, approximately 1,200 feet of 3" HDPE, and approximately 200 feet of ductile iron pipe, including hydrant and valve assemblies as shown on the Construction Drawings; o Pressure test and disinfect the new main and services; o Connect the new main to the existing mains; o Repair driveways and culverts to original condition or better; o Landscape yards and right-of way to original condition or better; o Remove temporary devices (sample taps, blow-offs, erosion control devices) from the site. Except during tie-ins that must be coordinated with Madison County Water, the existing water line shall remain in-service during construction, and work shall be performed to avoid any damage and service disruption to the existing main. The existing main will remain live until the new main and services have been successfully tested, and the new main is ready to connect to the existing main. Construction may be performed in phases. All work must be coordinated with Madison County Water. The work shall be performed according to the conditions, technical specification and drawings provided in this bid package. After notice of award, Payment and Performance Bonds are required to be submitted no later than December 24th. drawings and specifications, or in any other bid document, or be in doubt as to the intention and meaning of these documents, the bidder should immediately report such, in writing, to Mr. Vince Moody, Water System Engineer, Madison County Public Works, 246 Shields Rd, Huntsville, Alabama 35811.
