For the following Bakersfield High School Warren Hall Modernization Descope Phase 2: Signage. This applies to all prime and subcontractors with the following licenses: General Contractors (A and B), Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (C-4, C-7, C-10, C-16, C-20, C-34, C-36, C-38, C-42, C-43, and C-46). All prime and/or subcontractors must review the bid specifications to determine whether or not prequalification is required. PLEASE NOTE THAT WHETHER OR NOT PREQUALIFICATION IS REQUIRED FOR THE PRIME CONTRACTOR (BIDDER) PURSUANT TO PUBLIC CONTRACT CODE SECTION 20111.5 AND/OR 20111.6 ANY LISTED SUBCONTRACTORS WITH LICENSE CLASSIFICATIONS C4, C7, C10, C16, C20, C34, C36, C38, C42, C43 AND C46 MUST BE ON THE KERN HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICTS PREQUALIFIED CONTRACTOR LISTING. Get your prequalification package started at electronic . State law and regulations adopted by the Office of Public School Construction required that State-funded programs have participation goals of three (3) percent for Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) as defined in Public Contract Code 10115.1. To be considered, a firm or person(s) is required to meet the goal or to make a good faith effort to meet the DVBE participation goals as specified in the regulations. This project is a prevailing wage project. Owner has ascertained the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which this work is to be performed for each craft or type of worker needed to execute this contract. These rates are on file at Owners office, and a copy may be obtained upon request, or at www.dir.ca.gov A copy of these rates shall be posted at the job site. It shall be mandatory upon the contractor to whom the contract is awarded (CONTRACTOR), and upon any subcontractor, to pay not less than the specified rates to all workers employed by them in the execution of the contract. This project is subject to the requirements of Subchapter 4.5 of Chapter 8 of Title 8 of the California Code of Regulations. Contractor and all subcontractors must furnish certified payroll records to the California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) Public Works Contractor Registration (PWCR) System. A limited exemption from prevailing wage does not apply. Electronic certified payroll reports must be submitted weekly to and will be monitored by the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR). Construction contractors required to report payroll electronically can obtain assistance to use the service (eCPR) by accessing the website http://www.dir.ca.gov/Public-Works/Certified-Payroll-Reporting.html. The following notice is given as required by Labor Code Section 1771.5(b)(1): CONTRACTOR and any subcontractors are required to review and comply with the provisions of the California Labor Code, Part 7, Chapter 1, beginning with Section 1720, as more fully discussed in the Contract Documents. These sections contain specific requirements concerning, for example, determination and payment of prevailing wages, retention, inspection, and auditing payroll records, use of apprentices, payment of overtime compensation, securing workers' compensation insurance, and various criminal penalties or fines which may be imposed for violations of the requirements of the chapter. Submission of a bid constitutes CONTRACTORS' representation that CONTRACTOR has thoroughly reviewed these requirements. In order to perform the work required by this contract, contractor must possess the following type of license/certification issued by the State of California: C45 or C61/D42. The Board of Trustees of the Kern High School District reserves the right to reject all bids and/or waive any irregularities in a bid.
