The project is located at the Norrish Water Treatment Plant (the "Plant") which is situated at the 6.5 km mark of the Norrish Forest Service Road in the Fraser Valley (coordinates: 49.228340, -122.137616). The plant is in a remote location and can be accessed via the Norrish Creek Forest service road, north of the intersection of Bell Road and Hawkins Pickle Road in Deroche, BC. Project work includes the following per the project drawings: Removal of existing Sikagard-62 coatings on walls and floors within Membrane Tanks No.1, No.2, No.3, No.4, and No.5. Repair of any concrete defects (bug holes, honeycombing, voids, etc.) after exposing substrate with Sikagard-75 EpoCem. Surface preparation in accordance with manufacturer requirements including as-necessary roughening of concrete surfaces to achieve ICRI concrete surface profile of CSP-3 in Membrane Tanks No. 1, No.2, No.3, No.4, and No.5. Minimum of two (s) coats required. Application of first and second layer of new Sikagard-62 coating, ensuring the second layer is applied within 48 hours of the previous. Follow manufacturer's requirements. Contractor to hire and pay for the services of an independent registered NACE-certified coating inspector to inspect the preparation and application of Sika products and provide verification to Engineer of work quality. The scope of work generally includes the following tasks: Mobilization of materials and equipment to the site. Establishment and implementation of a confined space entry program. Installation of scaffolding or ladder system to safely enter the tanks. Installation of temporary fall arrest and fall protection measures (ex. Guard rails and anchors) Removal of existing Sikagard-62 coating to reveal underlying bare concrete. Review of concrete surface and Repair of concrete defects with Sikagard 75 EpoCem Preparation of concrete substrate to ICRI CSP 3 by means of roughening as per manufacturer's requirements. Application of Sikagard 62 (Two coats, within 48-hours) in accordance with manufacturer requirements. Hire and pay for the services of an independent registered NACE-certified coating inspector to inspect the preparation and application of Sikagard products and provide verification to Engineer of work quality. Demobilization of materials and equipment from the site. Miscellaneous steel supports and baseplates must be protected during coating removal. All fixed structural steel elements must remain and coating is to be applied around the steel elements.
