After secondary treatment, the flow is filtered using ultra-filtration membranes, then U.V. disinfection and re-aeration prior to discharge to the Chattahoochee River. After the U.V. but prior to re-aeration, reuse water is pumped for onsite irrigation and distribution to customers through the reuse distribution system. The plant is permitted to discharge a combined total of 15 mgd monthly average flow to the river and reuse system. The Johns Creek Environmental Campus has been in operation since September 2009.
