Technology Upgrade & PA System Upgrade - Bryant Elementary School The Estimated construction value of the Technology Upgrade work is $510,890.00 The Project. The Technology upgrade is generally described as: Technology and data upgrades that include but are not limited to the demolition of the existing MDF in room 03A and the existing IDF-LIB located in the Bungalows. A new MDF build-out in storage room 22A and a new outdoor exterior IDF build-out near the Bungalows, with additional electrical work to accommodate expansion; new data drops, network equipment and connections to accommodate expanded technology requirements affecting the main building, classrooms, administrative offices, corridors, other service areas; installation of data and phone network equipment and systems; network racks and equipment with associated conduit, cabling, fiber, electrical wiring, and panels; and, demolition and removal of abandoned equipment and materials, hazardous materials removal. 1. The Project. The PA System Upgrade is generally described as: The PA System Upgrade is generally described as: Public Address System Upgrades including associated cabling, integrated clock-bell devices, wall speakers, exterior speakers and head-end equipment, to upgrade and expand the existing Public Address system coverage and installation of a remote door device, new central exchange unit and client station at Byrant Elementary School. The Estimated construction value of the PA System Upgrade work is $657,792.00 2. Project Labor Agreement: All Bidders are hereby notified that the District has a Project Labor Agreement (PLA) in effect on the Project and all contractors and subcontractors bidding this project will be required to comply with the PLA. t's Pre-Qualification Procedure. All General Contractors must submit a prequalification package a minimum of ten (10) business days prior to bid date in order to bid on this project. No bids will be received or opened from Bidders who have not been pre-qualified through the District's Pre-Qualification Procedure; . Contractor's License Classification. In accordance with the provisions of California Public Contract Code 3300, the District requires that Bidders possess the following classification(s) of California Contractors License at the time that the Bid Proposals are opened: Class B, General Contractor with Asbestos and Lead Certification or Sub-Contractors with Asbestos and Lead Certification performing the work. In addition, work associated with project #12418, the with Data cabling, fiber, and low-voltage system work must be performed by C10 or C-7 licensed and Belden Certified contractor. Any Bidder not so duly and properly licensed shall be subject to all penalties imposed by law. 10. Bid Security. Bid Guarantee. Each Bid Proposal shall be accompanied by Bid Security in the form of: (a) cash, (b) a certified or cashier's check made payable to the District or (c) an original Bid Bond, in the form and content attached hereto, in favor of the District executed by the Bidder as a principal and a Surety as surety (the "Bid Security") in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the maximum amount of the Bid Proposal, inclusive of any additive Alternate Bid Item(s). Failure of any Bid Proposal to be accompanied by Bid Security in the form and in the amount required shall render such Bid Proposal to be nonresponsive and rejected by the District. 11. No Withdrawal of Bid Proposals. Bid Proposals shall not be withdrawn by any Bidder for a period of ninety (90) days after the opening of Bid Proposals. During this time, all Bidders shall guarantee prices quoted in their respective Bid Proposals. 13. DVBE Participation Goal. The District has a Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise ("DVBE") Participation Goal Program ("the DVBE Program") which establishes a three percent (3%) Participation Goal for DVBEs. All Bidders are required by the District, pursuant to the DVBE Program, to submit DVBE Worksheets that confirm two (2) advertisements were published at least 14 days prior to bid opening. 14. Award of Contract. The Contract for the Work, if awarded, will be by action of the District's Board of Education to the responsible Bidder that has been pre-qualified through the District's Pre-Qualification Procedure who submitted the lowest priced responsive Total Base Bid Proposal. The District reserves the right to reject any or all Bid Proposals or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any Bid Proposal or in the bidding.
