The Township of Peaine is seeking qualified contractors for window replacement and trim installation at designated locations within the Peaine Township Government Building. This project aims to enhance energy efficiency and aesthetics while maintaining the structural integrity of the building. Project Completion Timeline All work must be completed before June 30, 2025. IMPORTANT: All windows must be purchased by December 20, 2024, to avoid potential price increases as is the industry standard. The contractor of hire is required to provide proof of window purchase prior to December 20th, and will be asked to submit an itemized invoice for the windows and/or other materials purchased for this project to the Township by January 5th for reimbursement. 1. Preconstruction & Mobilization Site Protection & Cleanliness: Ensure that the site, both interior and exterior remains clean so that government operations or hall rentals can occur as scheduled. Disposal: Removal of waste will be at the Beaver Island Transfer Station. There are no associated costs for the waste removal. 2. Windows & Siding Replacement Window Removal: Remove and dispose of existing windows and trims at (7) specified locations. Siding Removal & Reinstallation: Carefully remove exterior vinyl siding around each window unit for replacement and re-install it after new windows are set. 3. Installation Process Weatherproofing: Apply Tyvek over window openings, add sill flex wrap on window sills, and install new window units with proper DuPont straight flashing around the perimeter. Window Units: Install (6) custom-sized glider windows on the main floor (approx. 60" x 48"). Install (1) bay window unit with fixed exterior panels and operational casement windows on two interior panels. Finishing Details: Windows should be white exterior and interior and extension jambs matching existing trims. Construct a new soffit covering the bay window unit's top and an exterior apron for the unit's bottom. Rot Repair: Note that rot repair is not part of the request if this RFP. It is expected that if found, the contractor will notify the Township Supervisor and provide a rough cost and time estimate. Exterior Trim: Install drip cap flashing over door and window units, add exterior trim around all (7) window units, finishing as decided by the Township Board.
