Renovation of a municipal facility in North Bay, Ontario. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

Nasittuq, as the Contractor to the Government of Canada for the Operation and Maintenance of the NWS, is soliciting a proposal to replace a proprietary control system with a standardized Programmable Logic Control (PLC) system for small-scale remote stations in the Canadian Arctic. Each station comprises a technical services module and a radar module atop a tower, with outdoor fuel storage. The new control system, based on Allen-Bradley hardware, will manage a redundant, non-synchronous three-generator power plant, and handle essential facility operations, including fuel, mechanical, and electrical systems. The project will begin with the development and testing of this PLC system at a southern test site to replace the current Intel BitBus system. Following successful testing and any necessary design adjustments, the project will move forward with manufacturing systems for deployment at 36 northern radar sites, aligning installations with the seasonal work schedule.
