State Project Number: 23-3140-065-23-R502, 23-3140-050-20-R501, 23-3140-070-23-R501, 23-3140-090-23-R502 The scope of the project includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1. (HES) The scope of this project includes, but is not limited to, HVAC upgrades to interior, windowless rooms 122 (PE Office), 123 (Faculty Room), and K1 (Kitchen) by adding HVAC cassette units which will provide heating, cooling, and fresh air at Hazelwood Elementary school. This project will include modifications to the electrical system and existing roof system. 2. (MHS) The scope of this project includes, but is not limited to, the replacement of existing Unit ventilators in 13 classrooms along the 100 Corridor in the 1958 wing at Middlesex High School. New UVs to be equipped with DX coils, replacement of associated exhaust system, BMS controls (existing front end to remain), select abatement, and modifications to the air intake as required by code. 3. (PES) The scope of this projects includes, but is not limited to, to replacement of existing Unit Ventilators in six (6) classrooms on the first floor at Parker Elementary School. New UVs to be equipped with DX coils, replacement of associated exhaust system, BMS controls (existing front end to remain), select abatement, and modifications to the air intake as required by code. 4. (WES) The scope of this project includes, but is not limited to, to the replacement of the existing Boiler at Watchung Elementary School. sealed bids will be received by the Middlesex Board of Education ("Board"), Middlesex County, New Jersey for the HVAC and Boiler Upgrades at Hazelwood Elementary School, Middlesex High School, Parker Elementary School, and Watching Elementary School ("Project") Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-26, in order to be eligible to submit a bid for the Project, the Bidder shall be classified by the New Jersey Department of Treasury, Division of Property Management and Construction ("DPMC") as of the date and time of the bid opening as either: C008- General Construction or C009 - General Construction/Alterations/Additions Further, if the Bidder is not classified by the DPMC in the following disciplines, the Bidder shall be required to retain a subcontractor that is DPMC classified in those disciplines that the Bidder is not classified; which subcontractors shall be named in the bid and all required documents for those subcontractors shall be provided within the time required by the bid documents and/or by law: C029 - Structural Steel and Ornamental Iron; C030 - Plumbing; C032 - HVACR; and C047 - Electrical Further, if the Bidder is not classified by the DPMC as C092 - Asbestos Removal/Treatment, the Bidder shall be required to retain a subcontractor that is DPMC classified C092. However, the C092 subcontractor shall not be named in the bid. All required documents for the C092 subcontractor (Business Registration Certificate, Public Works Certificate, etc.) shall be provided after award. Bidders are also notified that in addition to the DPMC classification requirement, Bidders and Subcontractors named in the branches specified in N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-18 who perform any work on the School Facilities Project shall be prequalified prior to the submission of any bids, pursuant to the Development Authority prequalification process. Bidders must be classified by the NJSDA as either: C008- General Construction or C009 - General Construction/Alterations/Additions Further, if the Bidder is not classified by the NJSDA in the following disciplines, the Bidder shall be required to retain subcontractors that are NJSDA classified in those disciplines that the Bidder is not classified; which subcontractors shall be named in the bid and all required documents for those subcontractors shall be provided within the time required by the bid documents and/or by law: C029 - Structural Steel and Ornamental Iron; C030 - Plumbing; C032 - HVACR; and C047 - Electrical Bids shall be submitted on the provided proposal forms and be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check of bid bond draw to the order of the "Middlesex Board of Education" for not less than ten percent (10%) of the bid, but in no case in excess of Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000.00). Bid securities shall comply with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-24. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the opening date. The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids and/or waive any informality in the bidding, as permitted by law. Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 etseq., and N.J.A.C. 17:27. Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.50 etseq., Bidders and their subcontractors are required to be registered with the New Jersey Department of Labor.
