All work must be completed per the Progress Clause contained in these bid specifications. The work will take place at the Cass County Road Commission Robert Powers Gravel Pit, commonly known as the Decker Pit, located on O'Keefe Street, LaGrange Township, E 1/2 Section 23, T6S, R15W. The work shall consist of processing pit run gravel through an approved gravel crushing plant in the approximate quantities according to the specifications. Stripping of overburden shall be paid for by the Cubic Yard of excavated material. The processed gravel will be paid for at the unit price per ton and shall include mobilization, excavation, blending and crushing of the pit run material, and all operations and equipment needed to place the processed gravel into stockpiles as specified in the attached supplemental specifications. The successful bidder will be required to follow these instructions which will include but not limited to stripping the topsoil overburden and depositing in the pit as directed, collect and stockpile clay, sand and gravel, and large rocks from various locations throughout the pit for mixing before processing. Removal of topsoil and overburden shall be bid per cubic yard to be determined by cross sections of the removal area taken prior to and after removal of material. Cross sections shall be taken by the contractor and engineer together to verify measurements and quantities.
