This project includes two 2-year pavement performance warranties. 0% Dbe Participation Required Net classification required for this project is 4278 Ca Control Sec Job No Federal No ST 78081 219402A 25A0249 Completion Date: 9/26/2025 MIDOT - 2502 020 - Overband Crack Seal, Lane, Single Chip Seal, and Fog Seal on M-60, M-216, M-40, US-131BR and M-103 The construction, installation, treating and reconditioning of pipelines transporting gas vapors within cities, towns, subdivisions, suburban areas, or within private property boundaries, up to and including private meter settings of private industrial, governmental or other premises, more commonly referred to as ""distribution work,"" starting from the first metering station, connection, similar or related facility, of the main or cross country pipeline and including duct installation. Tunnel, shaft and caisson work of every type and description and all operations incidental thereto, including, but not limited to, shafts and tunnels for sewers, water, subways, transportation, diversion, sewerage, caverns, shelters, aquafers, reservoirs, missile silos and steel sheeting for underground construction. Open cut construction work shall be construed to mean work which requires the excavation of earth including industrial, commercial and residential building site excavation and preparation, land balancing, demolition and removal of concrete and underground appurtenances, grading, paving, sewers, utilities and improvements; retention, oxidation, flocculation and irrigation facilities, and also including but not limited to underground piping, conduits, steel sheeting for underground construction, and all work incidental thereto, and general excavation. For all areas except the Upper Peninsula, open cut construction work shall also be construed to mean waterfront work, piers, docks, seawalls, breakwalls, marinas and all incidental work. Open cut construction work shall not include any structural modifications, alterations, additions and repairs to buildings, or highway work, including roads, streets, bridge construction and parking lots or steel erection work and excavation for the building itself and back filling inside of and within 5 ft. of the building and foundations, footings and piers for the building. Open cut construction work shall not include any work covered under Tunnel, Shaft and Caisson work. Excavation, site preparation, land balancing, grading, sewers, utilities and improvements; also including but not limited to, tunnels, underground piping, retention, oxidation, flocculation facilities, conduits, general excavation and steel sheeting for underground construction. Underground construction work shall not include any structural modifications, alterations, additions and repairs to buildings or highway work, including roads, streets, bridge construction and parking lots or steel erection. This special provision consists of requirements and restrictions to maintain traffic for Job Number 219402 on M-40, M-60, M-103, M-216 and US-131BR at various locations in Branch, Calhoun, Cass, and St Joseph Counties. This work consists of the Contractor consulting with the representative of the Grand Trunk Western Railroad Company (herein after called the Railroad) to determine the necessity for, the type of, and cost of protection required for ensuring the safety and continuity of Railroad traffic and payment to the Railroad for protective services when doing work on, above, or below the Railroad property. This work consists of the determined low Bidder, or the subcontractor(s) indicated in the pass-through warranty obligation folder in the electronic bid file, providing a warranty performance bond for the warranty(ies) listed herein. Below is(are) the warranty(ies) required in this contract along with the locations where the warranty applies, and a listing of the pay items and estimated quantities associated with that warranty type. This work consists of furnishing, installing, operating, maintaining, relocating, and the removal of Automated Flagger Assistance Devices (AFAD) that allows the operator to fully control the device from a safe location, outside of the lane of traffic. Use automated flagger assistance devices to control traffic in one-lane, two-way work zones. Relocate the system as required by the location of work. This system will be used to control traffic during active work only when personnel are on-site. The Contractor is responsible for coordinating with any work in adjacent work zone projects. This work consists of complying with the Department's construction management processes. The Department will manage this contract using the AASHTOWare Project Construction Materials (APCM) software. Ensure all change orders are approved using APCM. No paper documents, faxes, or other methods/media are permitted for change order approvals except as allowed by this special provision or specifically approved by the Engineer.
