Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Bridgewater, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
The work to be performed under this contract shall include, but is not limited to the following major items of work: Demolition and replacement of County Bridge No. G0907 with a new glued laminated timber superstructure supported on cast-in-place concrete abutments and wing walls. Installation, maintenance and removal of soil erosion and sediment control devices as shown on the plans. Approach roadway reconstruction and installation of new beam guide rail end terminals. Other incidental work provided for in the Contract Documents. Bidder shall submit with the bid a certified check, cashier's check or bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total price bid, but not in excess of $20,000.00, payable unconditionally to Somerset County Treasurer, along with a Certificate (Consent of Surety) with Power of Attorney for full amount of bid price from a Surety Company authorized to do business in the State of New Jersey and that said Surety will furnish a Performance and Payment Bond in amounts of 100% of successful bidder's contract. Bidders shall comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 and N.J.A.C. 17:27 et seq.
