Renovation of a laboratory facility in Lansing, Michigan. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 1,667-square-foot laboratory facility.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION/SERVICES REQUESTED This project calls for the replacement of all the boiler deaerator system. The system is older, and a redundant system would ensure that the lab stays running. A working deaerator tank is an essential part of steam boiler systems. The purpose of the deaerator tank is to reduce corrosion in steam boilers, improve the efficiency of steam boilers, reduce the cost of operations, improve the quality of steam, and reduce the environmental impact. A failure of the current deaerator could shut down the entire laboratory. The Professional Services Contractor (PSC) is to provide Phase 300 Schematic Design, Phase 400 Preliminary Design, Phase 500 Final Design / Bidding Documents, Phase 600 Construction Administration - Office Services, and Phase 700 Construction Administration - Field Inspection Services. See Sample Contract for task breakdowns. Please do not submit online questions via SIGMA VSS. ALL questions should be emailed to Sheryl Ananich at Ananichs@michigan.gov address no later than 2:00 p.m., Eastern on Thursday, December 5, 2024. Interested parties are requested to email Sheryl Ananich, DTMB-DCD Project Director at ananichs@michigan.gov by Monday November 25, 2024, to indicate your interest. Question Deadline 06/11/2025 at 2:00 PM ET ALL questions should be emailed to Jesse Hendershot at jhendershot@towerpinkster.com Furnish and install redundant surge tank and deaerator system within remote boiler plant serving the state environmental lab for DTMB. Project will be a phased approach that includes installation of manual valves at system tie in points prior to arrival of the DA system. Furnish all equipment, materials, labor, and services necessary to complete all building demolition required in connection with the existing building, in order to permit the installation of new Work. The goal of the Owner is to generate the least amount of waste or debris possible. However, inevitable waste and debris that are generated shall be reused, salvaged, or recycled, and disposal in landfills shall be minimized to the extent economically feasible. The Contractor will be required to prepare waste management plan for the collection, handling, storage, transportation, and disposal of the waste generated at the construction site for the Owner's review and approval. The Contractor will be required to produce waste management progress reports. 1. Locations: Notations are made in various places on the Drawings to call attention to building demolition which is required; however, these Drawings are not intended to show every item to be removed. The Contractor and the Subcontractors for the various trades must remove the materials related to their respective trades as required to permit the construction of the new Work as shown.
