Renovation of a transportation facility in Bakersfield, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a transportation facility.
Goals for minority participation for each trade: 19.1% Goals for female participation in each trade: 6.9% The scope of work for this Project consists of the following: Improving the security system for 19 of the gates on the airfield perimeter. This will be done by converting the access card from a pin system to card reader for ingress and egress and installing security cameras at each gate, and the footage can be accessed from a centralized location as shown on the project plans. Q&A Deadline 12/06/2024 4:00 PM (PST) No bid will be considered unless it is made on blank forms furnished by the Department and accompanied by bidder's security in an amount equal to 10 percent (10%) of the amount bid in accordance with the Plans and Specifications. Each bidder must complete, sign, and furnish with bid all forms and certifications contained in the Proposal Forms section of the Bid Documents. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price and on the form approved by the Kern County Counsel. Pursuant to Public Contract Code Section 22300, the substitution of securities for money withheld by Kern County to ensure performance of the contract will be permitted. All documents submitted in compliance with the requirements of this bid package and the contract must be scannable and photocopiable. Each bidder must be licensed as required by law at the time the contract is awarded. Failure of the bidder to obtain proper and adequate licensing for an award of a contract shall constitute a failure to execute the contract and shall result in the forfeiture of the security of the bidder. The contractor license classification required for this project is: California License Class A or Class C-10. Bidders are advised that, as required by Federal law, the State has established a statewide overall Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) goal. This Agency Federal-aid contract is considered to be part of the statewide overall DBE goal. The Agency is required to report on DBE participation for all Federal-aid contracts each year so that attainment efforts may be evaluated. The goals and timetables for minority and female participation, expressed in percentage terms for the Contractor's aggregate workforce in each trade on all construction work in the covered area, are as follows: Timetables Goals for minority participation for each trade: 19.1% Goals for female participation in each trade: 6.9% These goals are applicable to all of the Contractor's construction work (whether or not it is Federal or federally assisted) performed in the covered area.
