As of October 7, 2025, this project is under construction. A firm has been selected for commissioning services. ......................... The Promise Intersegmental Affordable Student Housing Building (Promise Housing) is a collaboration between University of California, Merced (UC Merced) and Merced Community College (Merced College). The project will deliver 478 affordable beds within approximately 130,000 gross square feet on the south side of Bellevue Road near the main entrance of the UC Merced campus. This building is four stories and construction type VA. The project also provides nine (9) apartments for Resident Assistants and one (1) apartment for a Resident Director. The total number of beds developed for this project is 488. The building will include a variety of unit types including double semi-suites and apartments with varying numbers of occupants. The building will include several communal areas including meeting rooms, laundry facilities and lounge/study rooms distributed throughout the building. Additionally, the facility will provide a Resource Center for Merced College students to assist them with integrating into university campus life and transfer support services. The project is required to be LEED gold minimum. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
