Any Envelope That Is Received That Is Not Properly Marked Causing It To Be Opened Prior To The Bid Will Be Invalidated. Bids May Be Received Before The Hour Designated In This Office If They Are Mailed Or Hand-delivered In Person. The Township Will Not Be Responsible For Any Bid That Is Sent By Mail Or Other Form Of Carrier Which Is Lost Or Which Arrives After The Bid Deadline Date And Time. Each bid shall be accompanied by an appropriate security guarantee in the form of a Bid Bond made payable to the City of Aurora in an amount of not less than five (5%) percent of the amount of the Bid. The Contract Documents require that all work be completed within 120 Consecutive Calendar Days plus 10 Consecutive Calendar Days for Mobilization after issuance of the Notice to Proceed. Failure to complete the work as prescribed shall be considered as a Breach of Contract and subject to Liquidated Damages which are $200.00 per day. The estimated cost for this project ranges from $886,000.00 to $979,000.00. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. The City reserves the right to reject any and all Bids, to waive informalities and irregularities, and to accept that Bid which is considered to be in the best interest of the City. This project proposes to add approx. 3,800' of concrete neighborhood connector trail to replace the existing gravel trail that traverses this site. Approximately 40' of the trail will serve as maintenance access for Xcel Energy to access overhead power lines located along the proposed trail.
