Project include 4,282 LF of removal & replacement of 6" & 8" CI water pipe and 3,889 LF of 6", 8", & 15" VC sewer pipe and water & sewer services & related amenities. The work to be performed under the contract consists of the removal and replacement of water and sewer lines and related appurtenances, along the following streets: Woodhaven Drive, Ray Andra Drive, Woodlawn Drive, and Lakewood Drive in the program. The Contractor shall supply all labor, equipment, and materials necessary to complete the work in accordance with these specifications and plans. Before bidding on the project, bidders are expected to inspect all the sites of the work and to inform themselves regarding all site, utility and roadway conditions. The Contractor will be required to coordinate construction activities with the City. All work shall conform to City of DeSoto construction standards and in accordance with the contract drawings and specification documents. All Work must be completed within 150 calendar days of the issuance of a Notice to Proceed. Questions or comments regarding this RFB must be received in writing by no later than 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 by MD Hossain, P.E., City Engineer, at the DeSoto Town Center, Development Services Department, 211 E. Pleasant Run Road, DeSoto, TX 75115 or mhossain@desototexas.gov. All bids shall be accompanied by a bid bond from a reliable surety (with the appropriate "Power of Attorney") or by a cashier's or certified check upon a national or state bank in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total maximum bid, as a guarantee that bidder will enter into a contract and execute performance, payment and maintenance bonds within ten (10) days after notice of award of contract to the company. The successful bidder must furnish a performance bond and a payment bond (with the appropriate "Power of Attorney") in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, and a maintenance bond (with the appropriate "Power of Attorney") in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price from an approved surety company holding a permit from the State of Texas to act as surety of other surety or sureties acceptable to the City of DeSoto. The maintenance bond shall be in effect for a period of two (2) years after final acceptance of the work. Please review the RFP documents for the entire list of bid submittal documents.
