Drainage Improvement - East of the Florida Turnpike The intent of this project is to eliminate the flow of runoff from the Turnpike into the City's R/W and improve drainage infrastructure within the City's R/W. The project area spans from just North of NW 12th Street to just South of NW 18th Court, in Lauderhill. The proposed system will be divided into three phases: Phase 1 is located South of the existing City's R/W for access, which is located between NW 12th CT and NW 16th CT. Phase 2 is located North of the existing access, located between NW 16th CT and NW 18th CT and Phase 3 is located South of Phase 1, between NW 11th PL and NW 12th CT. The proposed Exfiltration Trench will be located along the East side of Florida Turnpike and about 12 feet from the existing wall within the City ROW, and it will also connect with existing inlets along NW 50th AVE and NW 51st AVE. The existing site consists of a sound wall East of the Turnpike lined with trees and a residential area located immediately East of the wall. Directly North of the residential area is a lot owned by the School Board of Broward County. Pre-construction conditions include a drainage system of ditch bottom inlets and pipes connected to an exfiltration trench with connections to the drainage system on the Florida Turnpike.
