**As of February 19, 2025 the project has not been awarded yet. The timeline for award is expected on the evening of February 19, 2025, after which, award/rejection letters will be issued.** The primary purpose of this project is to convert three (3) existing spaces into four (4) new classrooms. The creation of the new classrooms will necessitate the inclusion of a new mechanical system, and new lighting, flooring, ceiling, and wall finishes. Two existing access stairs to the basement will be closed and the corresponding spaces will be included in the new classroom areas respectively. The east stair enclosure will require the mitigation of existing wall damage at the basement level landing, and the application of waterproofing (three (3) coats) and paint. The Irvington Board of Education reserves the right to reject any bid that does not conform to the specifications. Bids must be made on standard proposal forms in the manner designated by the specifications; must be enclosed in sealed envelopes bearing the name and address of the bidder, the contract being bid indicated on the outside thereof; and addressed and delivered to the Irvington Board of Education, Attention, Rosie Crombie, Purchasing Manager, 1 University Place, 4th Floor, Irvington, NJ 07111. Proposals will be accepted prior to the opening date in person, or they may be submitted by registered mail, certified mail, or special delivery, in advance of the opening proposal date and time. The Contracts will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidders. Irvington Board of Education reserves the right to reject any and all bids within the parameters of external law, and to waive nonmaterial informalities in any bid in such a manner as shall, in the judgment of Irvington Board of Education, be deemed in the best interest of this school district, all in conformity with the law.
