Indian River Lagoon Clam Restoration Please see attached map for the project location. The project will focus on a 100-acre area roughly a half mile north of the St. Lucie Inlet. The project is northwest of Sailfish Point/ Bathtub Beach, east of the Intracoastal Waterway and 1-2 miles south of the Stuart Causeway. The focal area will also be just east of SFWMD long term seagrass monitoring plots. The target area has excellent tidal flushing and historically housed some of the most robust seagrass meadows found within Martin County. Scope of Work Martin County is soliciting proposals from qualified Contractors to collect, maintain, and spawn a broodstock population of Divalinga quadrisulcata and Mercenaria campechiensis clams. Contractors will also be responsible for raising these clams and assisting in their release into the Indian River Lagoon. The clams must be sourced from the local estuary near the St. Lucie Inlet and will be released back to this same area. Funding is provided in part by a South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) Indian River Lagoon License Plate Funding Agreement (Agreement #: 4600005036).
