The Project shall generally consist of the following improvements: S. Lark Ave: consists of paving of approximately 28,750 square feet of asphalt surface overlay including S. Lark Ave. between the W Eighth St and Satterfield Landing Rd. located in Nags Head, North Carolina. Paving thickness will be comprised 1.75" thickness, selective edge milling for driveway transitions, 16' wide asphalt milling for street intersection pavement transitions and selective full depth pavement patch. Work will also include the removal of 40 l.f. of existing 18" dia. CMP pipe and replace with 38 l.f. of 18" dia. HP Storm pipe with flared end sections and permanent pavement patch. Pond Ave.: consists of paving of approximately 9,500 square feet of asphalt surface overlay including Pond Ave. between the W Eighth St. and its terminus in Nags Head, North Carolina. Paving thickness will be comprised of 1.75" thickness, selective edge milling for driveway transitions, 16' wide asphalt milling for street intersection pavement transitions and selective full depth pavement patch. ADD Alternate #1: 180 l.f. of 15" dia. HP storm pipe with flared end section. Prospective Bidders may examine printed copies of the Bidding Documents at the Issuing Office and in the upstairs lobby at Nags Head Town Hall, 5401 S. Croatan Hwy. on Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 8:30 am and 4:00 pm and may obtain printed copies of the Bidding Documents from the Issuing Office. Digital copies, as "zipped" portable document format (PDF) files, of the Bidding Documents shall be made available for obtain from onine at no charge. Bidders are encouraged to obtain the project information via this method. Please notify the issuing office after obtaining documents when utilizing this method. Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, including without limitation the rights to reject any or all nonconforming, nonresponsive, unbalanced, or conditional Bids, and to reject the Bid of any Bidder if Owner believes that it would not be in the best interest of Owner to make an award to that Bidder. For comparison purposes alternates will be accepted, following the order of priority established in the Bid Form, until doing so would cause the budget to be exceeded. After determination of the Successful Bidder based on this comparative process and on the responsiveness, responsibility, and other factors, the award may be made to said Successful Bidder on its Base Bid and any combination of its additive alternate Bids for which Owner determines funds will be available at the time of award and in the interest of the Town of Nags Head. Owner also reserves the right to waive informalities or minor defects and to reject any or all bids.
