The Town of Whitecourt invites Request for Proposals (RFP) from qualified contractors to provide contract services including vegetation clearing, mulching, stumping, grading (including erosion control), debris disposal, and FireSmart approved seeding for the Whitecourt East Community Fireguard Program. Utilizing the completed Community Fireguard Construction Plan that was completed during Phase 1 of the project, the consultant shall complete Phase 2: Vegetation Clearing, Mulching, Stumping, Grading, & Debris Disposal. During Phase 2 of the project, The Town of Whitecourt is looking to construct the planned 100-metre -wide fireguard with access routes. This work will include vegetation clearing, mulching, stumping, grading (including erosion control), debris disposal, and FireSmart approved seeding. Vegetation clearing will occur between December 2024 and February 2025. Stumping and debris disposal will occur following vegetation clearing and mulching. A contractor is being sought to work with the town to oversee the stumping and debris disposal of the Fireguard project, which is expected to be completed clearing by March 2025. The contractor shall also be familiar with FireSmart principles.
