Reference Number 0000369617 The Alabama Space Science Exhibit Commission DBA U.S. Space & Rocket Center seeks proposals from qualified firms for the repainting of the Museum Main Gift Shop Entrance, located at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center, 1 Tranquility Base, Huntsville, AL 35805 Scope of Work: The North entrance to the gift ship has been identified as being in need of restoration and aesthetic improvement This Statement of Work (SOW) outlines the requirements for this project to include the overhang trusses, vertical columns, stairs, and handrails. Vertical columns: Preparation and painting of the vertical columns (FLAGSTONE) to include Urethane topcoat Stairs and Landing: Remove all existing coatings. Preparation, repair and painting of the stairs to include non-skid surface (FLAGSTONE). Aggressive and resilient non-skid surface is required on stairs and landing. Stairs will need repair work to the bottom of the steps which are lumber and rotting in some places. Stairs will be ground or cut flush after removal of lumber. Truss system, ceiling and facia: Preparation with DRY ICE blasting and painting of the truss system, overhang, drainage piping (KNIGHTS ARMOR) shall include high performance acrylic coating. The ceiling shall be painted (FLAGSTONE) shall include high performance acrylic coating.
