CO DOT: 004 - Region 1 - US 287 Resurfacing *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. This work consists of removing all asphalt material and removing the waterproofing membrane from the surface of the concrete bridge deck and approach slabs. This work consists of saw cutting, removing, and disposing of existing deteriorated, spalled, and unsound concrete as shown in the plans. It also consists of removing corroded steel, sandblasting reinforcing steel or welded wire fabric that remains, and sandblasting the newly exposed concrete surfaces at the removal locations. This work consists of saw cutting, removing, and disposing of existing deteriorated bridge deck and approach slab concrete. Removal operations shall be conducted so that the traveling public is protected, and so that interference with the traveling public using the structure is minimized. Perform the applicable classes of removal as defined in the plans. The Engineer will determine the locations and limits of removal. This work consists of furnishing and installing galvanic anodes, tying existing steel reinforcing mats for electrical continuity, and testing for electrical continuity in concrete repair locations as shown on the plans or as directed by the Engineer. This work consists of furnishing and placing accelerated pavement repair concrete on existing pavements in accordance with these specifications and in conformity with the lines, grades and dimensions as shown on the plans or established. This work includes furnishing and installing new High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) and Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) Electrical Conduit and fittings for use with fiber optic cable, electrical conductors, and communications cabling. For locations where conduit is installed into asphalt, concrete, or slope pavement, patching with asphalt, concrete or slope pavement will be required and shall be included in the cost of the conduit. This work consists of the installation of a Service Meter Cabinet including the preformed polymer concrete footing, meter cabinet, mounting hardware, cabinet mounting base, power cables, ultraviolet-resistant (UV-resistant) cables and connection to the power source, and all required wires and wiring to facilitate a fully functioning Service Meter Cabinet at locations as shown on the Plans. This work consists of the installation of single mode fiber optic pre-connectorized patch cables between the termination patch panel and the communications equipment optical ports in communication cabinets, traffic management system buildings, and network facilities. This work consists of the installation and testing of a vehicle detection camera system at the locations shown in the plans. Each system shall consist of vehicle detection cameras for each direction of traffic approaching the intersection, cabinet equipment, miscellaneous mounting hardware, and cabling. This work consists of grounding and bonding requirements at project locations for all Traffic or Intelligent Transportation System (ITS)-related structures, poles, service pedestals, and cabinets. The work covered in this section consists of labor, materials, and services required for a functional and unobtrusive grounding system. (a) General. The Contractor shall provide comprehensive grounding and bonding for Traffic or ITS-related equipment. The Colorado Department of Transportation's (CDOT's) target resistance to ground value is equal to or less than 10 ohms. (b) Applicable Documents. Work performed in this section shall comply with the most current edition of the following codes and/or standards: (1) Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 81 - Guide for Measuring Earth Resistivity, Ground Impedance, and Earth Surface Potentials of a Grounding System (2) IEEE C2 - National Electrical Safety Code (3) National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) Grounding Rod (GR) 1 - Grounding Rod Electrodes and Grounding Rod Electrode Couplings (4) National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 70 - National Electrical Code (5) NFPA 70E - Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace (6) NFPA 780 - Standard for the Installation of Lightning Protection Systems (7) TIA-607 - Generic Telecommunications Bonding and Grounding (Earthing) for Customer Premises (8) Underwriters Laboratories (UL) 96 - Lightning Protection Components (9) UL 96A - Installation Requirements for Lightning Protection Systems (10) UL 467 - Grounding and Bonding Equipment
