The success of this project will depend largely upon the partnership and cooperation between the Design-Builder and the Town of Mooresville. The intent of the Town is to work with the Design-Builder as an integrated team with common goals of improving quality, efficiency, cost savings, and achieving the best project result possible. The Town will work with the selected firm to determine work and design practices that satisfy the performance-based requirements in the contract. It is expected of the Design-Builder to take customer preferences into consideration, participate with the Town in value-engineering, and proactively address risks and challenges to the Project's success. The project will include but may not be limited to playground design, equipment selection, design, fabrication, installation, playground surfacing, etc. The following details must be included in the project for Consideration Pour-in-place surfacing that can support motorized wheelchairs (1) large play component for ages 5-12 (minimum (3) vibrant colors) Shade structure(s) affixed to the large play component for ages 5-12 A minimum of (3) benches with backs installed inside the pour-in-place surfacing footprint as well as adjacent locations for wheelchairs A minimum of (2) slides with at least one being wheelchair-accessible Relevant signage Preferred amenities include the following items: We-go swing Sway fun glider Roller Table/Slide Spider web swings ADA swings Interactive Musical Features Sand or water tables Conveying or zip-line type installation The following items are NOT to be provided for this project: concrete walkway Submissions must include a list of all licensed agencies and firms that will be part of the project including designers, contractors, and subcontractors. The Design-Builders Scope of Work 1. Pre-construction project planning including the preparation of a schedule, cost estimate, preparing designs including 3-D models, CAD layouts, and other design elements to be reviewed and approved by owner. 2. Any necessary permits and inspections. 3. Equipment selection and fabrication. 4. Construction and installation of all elements. 5. Closeout, establishment of warranties, and guarantees.
