Site work for a water / sewer project in Washington, District of Columbia. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The Scope of Work includes, but is not limited to: Replacement of approximately 27 miles of watermains 12-inches in diameter and smaller. The project includes public and private side lead service lines, valves, hydrants, various appurtenances, and restoration of public and private space. Design-Builder shall obtain all permits. This project will be delivered using the Progressive Design Build (PDB) approach. The Design-Builder will work with DC Water and the Owner's Agent (OA) to provide design and preconstruction services and construct the approved design. As a multi-jurisdictional regional utility, DC Water provides drinking water services to more than 740,000 residential, commercial and governmental customers in the District of Columbia (District). In its distribution system, DC Water operates and maintains over 1,300 miles of pipes, five pumping stations, five reservoirs, four elevated water storage tanks, 36,000 valves and more than 9,000 public hydrants. The small diameter water mains are a critical component of DC Water's drinking water system serving the District. The water mains convey drinking water from larger transmission mains to service lines at each individual home. The service lines are also critical to water quality; replacement of lead services reduces risk of water contamination. DC Water conducts condition assessments of the small diameter water mains and has several Capital Improvement Projects planned to replace and/or rehabilitate defective segments of the pipe. This project is focused on rehabilitation of a group of the water mains, and the associated lead service line replacements and service connections. Contract Term 800 calendar days Regulatory Requirement Davis Bacon Act Design-Builder will be required to provide performance and payment bonds at 100% of the amount of the Contract Price at Phase 2. The Design-Builder will also be required to participate in DC Water's Rolling Owner Controlled Insurance Program(ROCIP) and comply with the non-ROCIP insurance provisions designated by DC Water. Detailed requirements and specific coverage required of the Insurance Program will be provided with the RFP to Shortlisted Proposers
