Henne Substation Breaker and a Half Upgrade New Braunfels Utilities invites the submittal of responses to this Request for Proposals from qualified firms interested in providing construction services in connection with the construction of the Henne Substation Breaker And A Half Upgrade The Project has been designed by SEnergy. The Project is anticipated to include the following items within its scope: (i) removal of one existing 138 kilovolt ("kV") Power Circuit Breaker; (ii) removal of two existing 138 kV Circuit Switchers; (iii) removal of eight existing 138 kV three-phase air break switch assemblies; (iv) installation of five new 138 kV Power Circuit Breakers; (v) installation of twelve new 138 kV three-phase air break switch assemblies; (vi) critical coordination of construction activities and schedules with the Lower Colorado River Authority ("LCRA"), its contractors, and its consultants; and (vii) all other appurtenances necessary to complete the Project. The Project will be located at 5207 Goodwin Lane, New Braunfels, Texas. NBU has established a target commencement date for construction activities of the Project as June 18, 2025. The projected completion date is estimated to be three hundred thirty-one (331) calendar days from the Notice to Proceed date. NBU reserves the right to phase the construction of the Project or modify the schedule as needed and determined by the NBU Board or staff due to modifications in scope or to coordinate the work with LCRA, its contractors and consultants. The estimated maximum construction budget is approximately $3,000,000 Each proposal must be accompanied by an approved Bid Bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the proposal cost, payable to NBU without recourse, as a guarantee respondent will enter into a contract at the stated price. The successful respondent must execute 100% performance and payment bonds on the forms provided, within ten (10) days after the contract has been awarded. . The Board of Trustees of NBU reserves the right to reject any or all of the proposals, to waive formalities, and to make an award to an Offeror in the order of ranking as outlined in this RFP and that the Board of Trustees determines will be the best value to NBU.
