Demolition and Site Clearance at 1514 Duff Ave The project site is located at 1514 Duff Avenue, Ames, IA 50010. The work is to provide the necessary labor, equipment, and materials to demolish the house and garage, and clear the site including designated trees and brush at the property owned by the City. It is the City's preference that all work be completed on or before January 24, 2025. No bidder may withdraw their bid for at least sixty (60) days after the scheduled closing time for receiving bids. If the accepted bid is over $25,000, the selected Contractor will be required to provide a performance and payment bond equal to the total bid amount. Contractor will include the cost of the performance and payment bond in the bid. Each successful bidder shall be required to furnish a corporate surety bond in an amount equal to 100 percent of its contract price. Said bond shall be issued by a responsible surety approved by the City's Risk Manager and shall guarantee faithful performance of the contract and terms and conditions therein contained and shall guarantee prompt payment of material and labor and protect and save harmless the City from claims and damages of any kind caused by operations of the contract and shall also guarantee the maintenance of the work in good repair for a period of one (1) year from and after the completion and acceptance by the City. The City does hereby reserve the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to enter into such contract, or contracts, as it shall deem to be in the best interest of the City.
