Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Grand Junction, Colorado. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a 25,000-square-foot educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.
Reference Number 0000369999 Colorado Mesa University (CMU) has evaluated housing requests for the Fall 2024 and projected Fall 2025 academic years, finding that demand continues to rise. In response, CMU is taking two key actions. First, the university has approved the construction of up to 316 new student housing beds, which is already underway. Second, there increased demand for meal plans, which currently exceeds the capacity of CMU's Food Services to adequately meet the needs of students and others. A study was conducted to address the existing food services issues and the back-of-house capacity shortages. It has been determined that a new Dining Hall facility is necessary. The two proposed building sites for the new 20,000 to 25,000 square foot dining hall are located at the Northeast corner of the new Formation District.
