The project begins at Washington Co line and proceeds west 9.19 miles along IL 15 to 0.4 miles west of Mt. Vernon West City Limits. DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT The proposed project is 9.16 miles long. The proposed work consists of pavement patching, 1 1/2 " HMA surface removal, and 1 1/2 " HMA surface course. This proposed project will include shoulder work, pavement marking, and raised pavement markers. This is an experimental project to determine if current 90 gyration (N90) HMA mixtures can be successfully replaced with 70 gyration (N70) HMA mixtures utilizing the current N90 fine aggregate requirements. The experimental N70 surface mixture shall be placed in the eastbound lane and the N90 surface mixture shall be placed in the westbound lane and serve as the control section.
