A timeline for the award has not yet been established.** The North Kansas City School District is accepting responses from vendors specific to the specifications and terms and conditions communicated in the attached solicitation. The North Kansas City School District reserves the right to reject any and all responses, to waive technical defects in responses, and select the response that is deemed most advantageous to the District. The North Kansas City School District is a public school district that encompasses more than 82 square miles, serves over 21,000 students, and employs over 3,100 full-time equivalents, making it the third largest employer in Clay County and third largest district in the State of Missouri. The District has 30 school sites including 22 elementary schools, 2 Sixth Grade centers, 4 middle schools, and 4 high schools. Other support facilities include the District football stadium, the district activities complex, the Northgate Soccer Stadium, the District administrative office, the R.B. Doolin Center for Educational Development, the Career and Technical Education Center, Early Education Center and Joseph G. Jacobs III Education Center. 3.0 Scope of Work - Measurement of all openings/frames where new doors will be installed. - Installation of new, wood flush doors and metal doors where indicated - ADMA/AWS Certified Extra Heavy Duty doors - Lifetime warranty door - Edges (stiles) must be hardwood; not veneered - Grade A Veneer - Plain sliced red oak, factory finished. To match color sample TBD. - 5 Ply construction - Ball bearing hinges for each door to be new. Heavy weight hinges preferred if existing frames will allow. Verify thickness during inspection. - Kick plates for each door 10" tall, stainless steel, 2" less dimensional door width. - Lite kits will be required on most doors. The final count and sizes for lite kits can be completed during the walk through. Lite kits will be metal kits with standard dark bronze finish. - If core is particle board include blocking. Blocking will be 6" for top and bottom rails, 5"x14" blocking for door handle locations. All doors with closers must have 6" top block. All panics must have lock blocks at hinge and locks side. If vertical rod, must have top and bottom block. - State Number of days from release until all doors will be field measured. - Project will be completed when school is not in session (spring break, summer schedule) - Removal of all old doors and debris from sites. Removal will occur daily if school is in session. If school is not in session debris may be removed at the end of the project. Trash dumpster will be allowed on site during the summer break to dispose of door. The school district must agree to the placement location of the dumpster. - Reuse existing door handles. Installation of existing door handles to be completed by door installers. Doors that will require new door handles, closers, panic bars, etc. will be determined during the walk through.
