The Mendenhall Lab is located in the core of the Columbus campus at 125 Oval Dr S. The building first open in 1905 and has gone thru two large renovations. The original portion of the building is currently the center section, the east wing was completed in 1914, and the west wing was finished in 1922. This project will renovate nine (9) classrooms (115, 125, 129, 131, 173, 174, 175, 185, and 191) located on the first floor. The project is to be completed during Summer '25 and prior to the Fall '25 semester. Renovations will include demolition of all existing bulletin boards and chalkboards. New whiteboards are to be installed in all rooms. Window shades in rooms 125, 129, 131, and 175 are to be replaced. The manual projection screens in rooms 125,129,131,173,174, and 175 are to be removed. Patching and repairs of all walls where existing equipment is to be removed is expected prior to the new finishes being completed. Proposed finishes are to meet the University's branding palette. The criteria documents prepared by OSU, OTDI - Space Design Strategist and HazMat survey will be available to the Short-listed firms for development of their proposals. Existing electrical, mechanical, and fire alarm systems will remain. FF&E selection and procurement is not included in the DB scope. All aspects of the project and related issues will be implemented and operated consistent with the Contracting Authority and/or Owner's policies and procedures. Scope of Services The selected Design-Builder ("DB"), as a portion of its required Scope of Services and prior to submitting its proposal, will discuss and clarify with the Contracting Authority and/or Owner, the breakdown of the Agreement detailed cost components, to address the Owner's project requirements and refine the project schedule. Participate in the Encouraging Diversity, Growth & Equity (EDGE) Program as required by statute and the Agreement.
