Renovation of an educational facility in Champaign, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The project document package is presented in one work package. The project is for installation of one new gas-fired condensing hot water boiler and two new gas-fired domestic water heaters in Parkland's P-Wing mechanical room. The existing hot water boiler and domestic hot water heat exchanger will be removed and scrapped. The project will be bid as one "mechanical" bid, which will include all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing controls, and General Contract work needed to fully complete the project. Representatives of the Owner and Engineer will be present to answer any questions regarding the project and bidding procedures. All prospective bidders are strongly urged to attend. The successful bidder will be required to comply with all laws, statutes, regulations, ordinances, rulings, or enactments of any Governmental authority which are applicable to the work or to the Project. The successful bidder shall pay prevailing wages. Following the bid and at the Owner's request, Contractors submitting bids on this project may be required to submit a Contractor's Qualification Statement, AIA Document A305. Contractors shall be required to demonstrate previous experience working on projects of this size and scope. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities in bidding. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the opening of bids without consent of the Owner. Parkland College reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities. Should a Bidder find discrepancies in, or omissions from the Documents, or should he be in doubt as to the meaning of any requirements on the Documents, he shall, at once, notify the Engineer in writing or via e-mail at pboland@henneman.com, but in no event later than (5) days prior to the date for receiving Bids. Conflicting requirements brought to the Engineer's attention subsequent to (5) days prior to the date for receiving Bids will be subject to the Engineer's decision and at no additional cost to the Owner
