The subject line must read "RFP 25-06 FIBER CONNECTION TO CULINARY ARTS - Questions". The responses will be provided in an addendum and posted on the School District's website. The last day to ask questions is January 14, 2025 at 3:00 PM. In the event of a discrepancy in documentation posted in multiple locations, the controlling (master) document will always be located at the School District's website. Current Environment: This Culinary Arts building (2000 Badillo St. West Covina, CA 91790) currently has access to the Baldwin Park High School network via the use of two Cisco external access points running in bridge mode. This wireless bridge setup has been providing network access to the Culinary Arts building for a few years. Unfortunately, wireless communications are not always the most reliable and as such, BPUSD has experienced network downtime for devices being used in this building. BPUSD has also added additional network devices to this building (including IP phones and IP clocks/speakers) after the wireless bridge connection was originally implemented. Proposed Environment: In an effort to reduce network downtime to the Culinary Arts building (2000 Badillo St. West Covina, CA 91790) and provide it with a more stable connection to Baldwin Park High School's network, BPUSD has decided to implement a new wired network connection via the use of single mode fiber optic cabling. Purpose: BPUSD is soliciting offers from qualified bidders to furnish all project management, as-builts and documentation, labor, materials, testing and all other necessary services including installation of equipment to establish a single mode fiber optic wired connection from Baldwin Park High School's network to this Culinary Arts building. The proposed new single mode fiber optic cabling would connect the existing network IDF cabinet located in the building that is west of the Culinary Arts building, to the IDF closet/room located within the Culinary Arts building. Warranties: BPUSD is seeking a minimum warranty coverage of 15 years for all labor performed by the awarded contractor as well as for all parts, accessories, and equipment provided and installed by the awarded contractor. All parts and cabling used must be certified and meet industry standards. Vendor must provide written documentation validating all cabling certifications. Project Specifications and Requirements: BPUSD has pre-determined the path/route that the new cabling and conduit should take in order to provide this new fiber optic network connection. All cabling is to be run above ground with the use of conduit for protection. Fiber cable will need to be run through the air connecting Building B to the metal fence. From the metal fence, the conduit is to be run along the top portion of the fence that resides between the two buildings. A portion of the fence includes an opening for two doors. In this particular area, the conduit must run above the door space and also be significantly stronger in this portion of the run because of the opening of the fence that is created as a result of the doors.
