In order to accomplish this, the work includes, but is not limited to, demolition and removal of the existing headgate and adjacent retaining walls, removal of existing concrete rubble, construction of a new reinforced concrete headgate with wingwalls, with the placement of sheet piling, furnishing and installing an underdrain system, radial gated bays with motor controlled radial gates, weir board bays with miscellaneous metal supports, handrailing and fencing, reconstruction of river channeling in the river bed with excavation, backfill and compaction, placement of rock slope protection on channel slopes and river invert, placement of soil-cement, excavation and canal grading, earthen embankments, installation of new electrical equipment, including but is not limited to, a new exterior meter and main, manual transfer switch with locked exterior cabinet with generator plug, load center panel with breakers, a radial gate motor control panel and a connection to existing SCADA communication system in existing control center instrument building with existing SCADA system, aggregate base surfacing, relocating, furnishing and installing all electrical; and all other incidental items necessary, including environmental compliances, for the complete construction and verified operation of the new Pioneer Canal Headgate.
