The proposal includes winterization of existing facilities to allow year-round use, construction of a new +/- 11,000-square foot water treatment facility, replacement of certain existing wells, and stormwater infrastructure improvements. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Project Request for Qualifications and Statement of Qualifications for General Contractor Prequalification for the FY 25 Straightway Water Treatment Facility DWSRF Project Location: 228 Straightway Hyannis, MA 02601 Contractor Qualification DCAMM Certificate Required for DCAMM contracts over $150,000, Highway Division contracts over $50,000. This Request for Qualifications ("RFQ") is issued pursuant to M.G.L. c. 149, 44D 1/2 . Firms interested in providing General Contractor services for the construction of the project described in Section I and Section II ("the Project") MUST submit a Statement of Qualifications ("SOQ") in response to this RFQ to the Awarding Authority as instructed in Section III and Section VIII, herein. The General Contractor selection process for this Project is a two-phase process as set forth in M.G.L. c. 149, 44D 1/2 . The project delivery method for construction will be under M.G.L. c. 149. The Awarding Authority is prequalifying firms interested in providing General Contractor services for the Project through this RFQ prequalification process. Participation in the IFB Bidding Phase of this Project will be limited to ONLY those General Contractor firms who have submitted a SOQ (and required supporting documentation) in response to this RFQ and that have been deemed prequalified by the Awarding Authority. General Contractors that fail to respond to this RFQ and submit a SOQ with the required supporting documentation by the Submission Deadline set forth in Section I and General Contractors that have not been deemed prequalified by the Awarding Authority shall be automatically disqualified from bidding on this Project. The Awarding Authority is prequalifying General Contractors and Subcontractors for this Project. Therefore, responses to this RFQ will be considered ONLY for the prequalification of General Contractors that, if deemed prequalified will be invited to submit a bid pursuant to M.G.L. c. 149, 44E. Any contractor seeking to be prequalified as both a General Contractor and Subcontractor for a particular filed sub-bid trade(s) shall be required to file separate responses to BOTH this RFQ and the RFQ issued to prospective filed sub-bidders for this Project. Questions Due Date: Dec 27th 2024, 12:00 PM EST This project involves the construction of a new 4.03 MGD drinking water treatment facility for Barnstable's Hyannis Water System. The new facility will replace the existing Hyannisport and Straightway Treatment Facilities and will reduce levels of PFAS, iron, manganese, and 1,4-Dioxane to below the regulatory limits. The facility will include greensand filtration for iron and manganese removal, UV reactors to perform Ultraviolet Advanced Oxidation Process (UV-AOP) for 1,4-Dioxane destruction, and granular activated carbon adsorption systems for PFAS removal. The project also includes winterization of existing seasonal GAC vessels, upgrades to the existing finished water booster station pumps, modifications to the existing Straightway well pumps and discharge piping, replacement of the Hyannisport and Simmons Pond wells and pump stations, demolition of the existing Hyannisport and Simmons Pond facilities, and all associated stormwater management features and site work.
