Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Hermosa Beach, California. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
The scope of work for this project generally includes cold milling of existing pavement and construction of asphalt rubber hot mix (ARHM) overlay with select full depth pavement repair as shown on plans; removal and reconstruction of curb ramp, sidewalk, curb, curb and gutter, and cross-gutter at various locations as shown on the plans and all necessary work to complete the work per project plans and specifications. This project includes work along Pier Avenue from Pacific Coast Highway to Hermosa Avenue and Parking Lot "A" in the heart of downtown Hermosa Beach- a vital city thoroughfare. As such, this project shall be completed in distinct and consecutive phases as described in Special Provisions, Section 900-1 and below: Phase 1- Concrete Improvements- Contractor shall complete concrete improvements along Pier Avenue and Parking Lot "A" prior to commencing concrete work at other listed locations. Contractor will be permitted to complete concrete improvements at other listed locations only after completion of Phase 1 and during Phase 2. Phase 2- Contractor shall complete paving rehabilitation of Pier Avenue and Parking Lot "A". Paving along Pier Avenue shall be completed prior to start of paving rehabilitation at Parking Lot "A". Phase 3- Completion of work at other listed locations per plans and specifications. The Contractor is responsible for production and submittal of traffic control plans in accordance with the requirements of the Special Provisions. Traffic control plans shall be considered a construction submittal subject to review by the Engineer.
