Site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Rome, Georgia. Completed plans call for the construction of a transportation facility; for site work for a transportation facility; for paving for a transportation facility; and water / sewer project.

**As of March 14, 2025 , this project has been awarded to Brooks Building Group Inc., awarded amount not available.** The Floyd County Board of Commissioners will be accepting sealed bids for the purpose of the construction of a new corporate aircraft suitable storage hangar, including associated sitework improvements. The proposed prefabricated metal building consists of a large hangar bay with restroom, as well as a lean-to structure shell for future office space. The sitework generally consists of minor grading, bituminous pavement construction, bituminous pavement overlay and transitions, pavement marking, utility connections, and site restoration, as well as installation and maintenance of erosion control measures. The Bid has been structured as a Base Bid and an Alternate Bid. The Base Bid consists of an 80-foot deep by 84-foot wide by 30-foot tall hangar bay with a 80-foot deep by 30-foot wide by 14-foot tall lean-to structure. The Alternate Bid consists of a 90-foot deep by 130-foot wide by 30-foot tall hangar bay with a 80-foot deep by 30-foot wide by 14-foot tall lean-to structure. The proposed sitework improvements accommodate both building sizes. All forms, certifications and compliance documents required by Floyd County must accompany each bid. Including, but not necessarily limited to, compliance with the Georgia Security and Immigration Compliance Act OCGA 13-10-90 et.seq. Contractor must complete and submit with bid, the Contractor Affidavit under OCGA 13-10-91(b)(1) included with contract documents. Be advised that bid will not be read or accepted if this document is not submitted at time of bid. MINORITY BUSINESS ENTERPRISE POLICY STATEMENT: It is the policy of Floyd County, Georgia to provide fair and reasonable opportunities for participation by Minority Business Enterprises (MBE). Floyd County encourages these firms to compete and encourages non-minority firms to provide for the participation of MBE firms through partnerships, joint ventures, subcontracts, and other contractual opportunities. Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Bond in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the base bid. All bonds must be signed or countersigned by a Georgia Resident Agent. A Performance Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of the bid, and a Labor Materials Payment Bond in the amount of not less than the amount of said Bid, one hundred percent (100%), shall be furnished by the successful bidders. The right is reserved to the Board of Commissioners of Floyd County, Georgia to delay the award of the Contract for a period not to exceed one hundred twenty (120) days from the date of opening of bids, during which time bids shall remain open and not subject to withdrawal. The right is also reserved to the Board of Commissioners of Floyd County, Georgia to reject any and all bids and to waive any and all technicalities or informalities. Any contract executed pursuant to this notice shall be binding upon the Board of Commissioners of Floyd County, Georgia, as such, but will not create a liability expressed or implied, against any members of the Board of Commissioners of Floyd County, the Chairman of the Board, or employee of said County, in his or her individual capacity. Construction must begin within 10 days from the date of receipt of the Notice to Proceed, as evidenced by official receipt of certified mail or acknowledgement of personal delivery, and must be completed within allotted time, within Two Hundred Forty (240) consecutive calendar days, from and including the date of receipt of such notice.
