The 2025 works involve the securing of land for application of bio-solids, removal, transportation and uniform application of approximately 12,300 m3 of bio-solids at approximately 6.5% solids from the City's municipal lagoons (800 dry tonnes at 100% solids). The 2026 works involve the securing of land for application of bio-solids, removal, transportation and uniform application of approximately 12,300 m3 at 6.5% solids from the City's municipal lagoons (800 dry tonnes @ 100% solids). The bio-solids are to be injected into neighboring agricultural lands located between one and forty (1-40) kilometers from the City sites. Contractors are advised that the solids content may range from 4% to 14% depending on the location. The Water Reclamation Facility's (WRF) lagoons are located within the south half of section twenty-two in township ten and range eighteen west of the prime meridian (S 1/2 22-10-18WPM). A final report is to be prepared each year outlining the results of the farmland program as related to the application replacing the normal fertilizers used by the farming community with respect to the plant growth. This report will evaluate the bio-solids program for its effectiveness. It is the intent of the City to award the contract for a two (2) year term (2025-2026) with the option to extend the contract for an additional one (1) year term (2027), provided there is mutual agreement between both the City and the Contractor. The City will give notice of its intent to either extend or terminate the contract by December 1, 2026. If the City gives notice to extend the contract, the Contractor shall give notice of its intention to either renew or terminate the contract prior to December 15, 2026. There shall be no compensation to the Contractor should the City decide not to extend the contract into the option year Immediately upon awarding of the Bio-solids Management contract, the Contractor shall begin securing land for the 2025 and 2026 bio-solids application programs.
