Center City Park, 200 N. Elm Street, Greensboro, NC 27401, was constructed in 2003. The fountain is multi-level, holds approximately 30,000 gallons of water contained in several plaster lined pools, and has several elements run as a show set on an 1 hour loop. The fountain is filled and runs year-round, unless prolonged periods of sub-freezing weather are expected. The fountain has undergone several repairs over the years, and has most recently had plaster patched in 2022. The fountain has developed several leaks which are causing water to weep out and run across the brick paths that surround the fountain. In-house dye testing has identified the leaks as occurring at expansion joints that have previously been caulked, and that the caulking is deteriorating. Current concerns center on stopping these leaks to prevent ice from building up on the paths during the winter, improving aesthetics, and preventing further damage to the fountain.
