PROJECT DESCRIPTION The City of West Jordan is working to develop and present a comprehensive program document as part of the ZAP (Zoo, Arts, and Parks) process to secure grant funding for the construction of a new Recreation Center on the west side of the city. This document will outline the community's need for such a facility, its potential benefits, and how it aligns with the city's long-term goals for health, wellness, and community engagement. By leveraging the ZAP funding, the city aims to assist in the creation of a space that will serve as a hub for recreational activities, youth programs, fitness, and social events, enriching the quality of life for all residents. The City of West Jordan requests proposals from qualified architecture firm for the Schematic Design and Programming of a new West Jordan Recreation Center to be located at Ron Wood Park. BACKGROUND The City has had a long-term vision of constructing another recreation center on the west side of West Jordan City. Building a recreation center is often driven by a desire to enhance the quality of life for a community by providing a dedicated space for physical activities, social interaction, and community events. The idea typically stems from recognizing a need for accessible, safe, and inclusive spaces where people of all ages can engage in various recreational, fitness, and wellness programs. PROJECT OBJECTIVES AND SCHEDULE It is anticipated that an award and resulting contract will be finalized in late January 2025. Following the approval and execution of a contract, city staff will work with the architect to develop a detailed schematic floor plan, elevation schemes, and projected budget. This work is required to be completed by August 1, 2025. Questions arising subsequent to the issuance of this RFP, that could have a significant impact on the responses to the RFP, should be submitted in the RFP Question and Answer section Event Number # WJPS24121701 before January 7, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. MT. Only written clarifications and addenda issued by the Purchasing Department will be binding for RFP evaluation and award of a contract or purchase order.
