Demolition, site work, outdoor lighting and renovation of a mixed-use development in Melbourne, Florida. Completed plans call for the demolition of a transportation facility; for the renovation of a transportation facility; for site work for a transportation facility; for outdoor lighting for a transportation facility; and water / sewer project.

Project No: O07008001, DCFLMLB23483 The Melbourne Airport Authority (MAA) is seeking to expand baggage screening operations with an inline baggage handling system that will accommodate 3 TSA baggage screening machines. The new baggage handling system will be constructed within the existing terminal building behind the ticketing area and expand out into the apron area with a canopy cover for the baggage chutes and/or carousels. A temporary baggage screening area will need to be constructed and operational before any renovation and new construction of the baggage handling system can begin. Separate trailers will need to be set for airlines ATO space while renovation is being completed. Besides temporary baggage screening operations, work will be performed within an existing terminal with on-going operations for commercial airlines. This project will include the following scope of work: demolition, underground utilities, concrete, structural steel, miscellaneous steel, plumbing, mechanical, fire sprinklers, casework, door/frames and hardware, windows, metal studs and drywall, interior finishes, signage and markings, roofing, special construction, baggage handling equipment, low voltage/data communications, security system, electrical including generator, lighting, fire alarm, and temporary facilities. This Request for Proposal is seeking a Construction Manager to permit and construct the work as described above. This is a Cost of the Work Plus a Fee with a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) Contract. The selected Proposer will be responsible for all maintenance of traffic, coordination with other construction contractors and for providing maximum support to the Melbourne Airport Authority in maintaining their operations and other functions at times specified by the Owner during construction. Construction will occur while the airport is operational, and provisions will need to be made to accommodate existing commercial airline activity.
