** As of today February 5,2025 the project was awarded to Mark Haynes Construction, Norwark, OH for the base bid of $224,875 plus select alternate items totaling $409,625; for a total award of $634,500. Base Bid: $139,375 Alt: $1,077,500 This project consists of a Court Ordered rehabilitation and modification of an existing Class 1 High Hazard Dam on Private Property, including reconstruction and restoration of an upstream stormwater pond, and construction of a new upstream stormwater pond as indicated in the drawings and specifications. The City of Mount Vernon is serving as an agent of the Court. Questions regarding the work should be directed to the City Engineer at 740-393-9528. Each proposal must contain the full name of the party or parties submitting the proposal and all persons interested therein. Each bidder must submit evidence of its experiences on projects of similar size and complexity. The Agent intends and requires that this project be completed by December 15, 2026. Each proposal must be accompanied by a bid guaranty in the amount of ten (10) percent of the bid. Said guaranty may be in the form of a bid bond, bid guaranty and contract bond, a certified check or cashier's check or a letter of credit. Bid guarantees must meet the requirements of Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code. All contractors and subcontractors involved with the project will, to the extent practicable use Ohio Products, materials, services, and labor in the implementation of this project. Additionally, contractor compliance with the equal opportunity requirements of Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 123, the Governor's Executive Order of 1972, and Governor's Executive Order 84-9 shall be required. This is a prevailing wage project and is subject to the requirements of Ohio Department of Commerce Wage and Hour Division and Chapter 4115 of the Ohio Revised Code. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities.
