Site work for a civil project in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The City of Cedar Rapids and the Iowa Department of Agriculture & Land Stewardship (IDALS) launched a partnership with six Soil & Water Conservation Districts to improve water quality in the Cedar River Watershed. The goal of the project is for the partners to work with local landowners to implement 'Edge-of-Field Practices' (saturated buffers and bioreactors) to reduce nitrate runoff from farm fields. IDALS has set aside funding to install saturated buffers and bioreactors at no cost to the landowners in the project area. Landowners will also receive a temporary construction easement payment of $1,000 per qualified tile outlet. Bids may be withdrawn any time prior to the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids; no bid may be modified or withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) calendar days thereafter.
