Marine Park Bandstand Improvements - Phase I (officially known as the Harry G. Uhlman, Jr. Bandstand) Counties: Boston, MA. The project consists of demolishing the existing terrazzo roof and asphaltic waterproofing membrane down to the bare structural concrete sub-roof, and complete removal of the limestone roof edging. Replacement with a new zinc-coated copper radiused flat seam roof over wood sleepers and new waterproofing membrane, cast concrete cornice stones with Kryton waterproofing admixture, and repointing of the brick rooftop lantern, with various repairs to the lantern's limestone cap and base stones. Removal and replacement of bandstand ceiling and lighting, with a period-correct faux coffered ceiling, and LED lighting. Replacement of the Lantern's Faux oculus panels with storm proof louvers. Adding Life safety exit and emergency lighting in the unoccupied basement storage area for code compliance.
