Build a new roadway to provide alternative access to Whiskey Rd. The roadway will provide a parkway with a wide landscaped median, bicycle lns, and a multi-use path. The project includes water main improvements along S Centennial Ave and the installation of new water utility within the roadway R/W. The work to be done consists of furnishing all materials and equipment and performing all labor necessary for the completion of the work as set forth in the Proposal, as shown in contract drawings, and any property restoration, and erosion control, per the more stringent between the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) and the City of Aiken Standard Specifications or Technical Specifications listed herein. Work includes: Powderhouse Phase I: The City of Aiken proposes to construct a new roadway (Approximately 1.2 Miles) that will provide alternative access to Whiskey Road by connecting the corridor to South Centennial Avenue. The project will give new purpose to long-since fallow farmland and will allow access to approximately 500 acres of developable land. The proposed roadway will provide a parkway setting with a wide landscaped median providing access control, dedicated bicycle lanes, and a multi-use path. The project also includes water main improvements along South Centennial Avenue and the installation of new water utility within the roadway right-of-way.
